Organised by the Marine Conservation Society in Britain, this annual event monitors the litter found on beaches and uses the information collected to improve the state of our beaches for people and wildlife. As part of Archaeology month come on a moderate walk to visit the Roman camp at Raedykes, prehistoric cairns on Campstone Hill and the Auquhollie Standing Stone with its Ogham inscription. We will drive to a convenient starting point (car-sharing may be required depending on numbers) then walk to and between the sites along farm roads and tracks. Exploring Fyvie Castle grounds with this children’s environmental group. We will walk round the loch and grounds of this historic castle to see what birds are still around at the end of summer and also look out for red squirrels, fun games too.
